Ἄργος-1 (ἱππόβοτον, κλυτόν , οὖθαρ ἀρούρης, πολυδίψιον , πολύπυρον). The Argolic plain in the Peloponnesus stretching inwards from the Argolic gulf, and, apparently, adjoining lands Il. 1.30, Il. 2.108 (here apparently the whole of the mainland over which Agamemnon's sway extended), 115, 559 (the realm of Diomedes (cf.
