Cassius made his camp two days later about four miles from Corduba on the other side of the river Baetis in a high place within sight of the town. He sent letters to King Bogud in Mauretania and to Marcus Lepidus, the proconsul in nearer Spain, that he should come with assistance for him and the province as soon as possible, for the cause of Caesar.
