ὑπερώϊον
ὑπερώϊον ὑπερῷον τό [ὑπέρ.] 1 An upper chamber: ὑ. εἰσαναβᾶσα Il. 2.514. So in pl. : εἰς ὑπερῷʼ ἀναβάς Il. 16.184. 2 In pl., a raised set of chambers appropriated to the lady of a house and her maidens, the women's quarters (cf. μέγαρον 3): εἰς ὑπερῷʼ ἀναβᾶσα Od. 1.362=Od. 19.602=Od. 21.356, Od. 4.751=Od. 17.49=Od. 23.364, εἰς ὑπερῷʼ ἀνέβαινε Od. 4.760 (app. the same as the θάλαμος of 718).
