THEO. Socrates, the man was my friend, as you just remarked. So I should hate to bring about the refutation of Protagoras by agreeing with you, and I should hate also to oppose you contrary to my real convictions. So take Theaetetus again; especially as he seemed just now to follow your suggestions very carefully.

SOC. If you went to Sparta, Theodorus,
162b
and visited the wrestling-schools, would you think it fair to look on at other people naked, some of whom were of poor physique, without stripping and showing your own form, too?

THEO. Why not, if I could persuade them to allow me to do so? So now I think I shall persuade you to let me be a spectator, and not to drag me into the ring, since I am old and stiff, but to take the younger and nimbler man as your antagonist.

SOC. Well, Theodorus, if that pleases you,
162c
it does not displease me, as the saying is. So I must attack the wise Theaetetus again. Tell me, Theaetetus, referring to the doctrine we have just expounded, do you not share my amazement at being suddenly exalted to an equality with the wisest man, or even god? Or do you think Protagorass measure applies any less to gods than to men?

THEAET. By no means; and I am amazed that you ask such a question at all; for when we were discussing the meaning of the doctrine
162d
that whatever appears to each one really is to him, I thought it was good; but now it has suddenly changed to the opposite.

SOC. You are young, my dear boy; so you are quickly moved and swayed by popular oratory. For in reply to what I have said, Protagoras, or someone speaking for him, will say, Excellent boys and old men, there you sit together declaiming to the people, and you bring in the gods, the question of whose
162e
existence or non-existence I exclude from oral and written discussion, and you say the sort of thing that the crowd would readily acceptthat it is a terrible thing if every man is to be no better than any beast in point of wisdom; but you do not advance any cogent proof whatsoever; you base your statements on probability. If Theodorus, or any other geometrician, should base his geometry on probability, he would be of no account at all. So you and Theodorus had better consider whether you will accept arguments founded on plausibility and probabilities in
163
163a
such important matters.

THEAET. That would not be right, Socrates; neither you nor we would think so.

SOC. Apparently, then, you and Theodorus mean we must look at the matter in a different way.

THEAET. Yes, certainly in a different way.

SOC. Well, then, let us look at it in this way, raising the question whether knowledge is after all the same as perception, or different. For that is the object of all our discussion, and it was to answer that question than we stirred up all these strange doctrines, was it not?

THEAET. Most assuredly.

163b

SOC. Shall we then agree that all that we perceive by sight or hearing we know? For instance, shall we say that before having learned the language of foreigners we do not hear them when they speak, or that we both hear and know what they say? And again, if we do not know the letters, shall we maintain that we do not see them when we look at them or that if we really see them we know them?

THEAET. We shall say, Socrates, that we know just so much of them as we hear or see: in the case of the letters, we both see and know the form and color,
163c
and in the spoken language we both hear and at the same time know the higher and lower notes of the voice; but we do not perceive through sight or hearing, and we do not know, what the grammarians and interpreters teach about them.

SOC. First-rate, Theaetetus! and it is a pity to dispute that, for I want you to grow. But look out for another trouble that is yonder coming towards us, and see how we can repel it.

THEAET. What is it?

SOC. It is like this: If anyone should ask, Is it possible, if a man has ever known a thing and still has
163d
and preserves a memory of that thing, that he does not, at the time when he remembers, know that very thing which he remembers? I seem to be pretty long winded; but I merely want to ask if a man who has learned a thing does not know it when he remembers it.

THEAET. Of course he does, Socrates; for what you suggest would be monstrous.

SOC. Am I crazy, then? Look here. Do you not say that seeing is perceiving and that sight is perception?

THEAET. I do.

SOC. Then, according to what we have just said, the man who has seen a thing has acquired knowledge
163e
of that which he has seen?

THEAET. Yes.

SOC. Well, then, do you not admit that there is such a thing as memory?

THEAET. Yes.

SOC. Memory of nothing or of something?

THEAET. Of something, surely.

SOC. Of things he has learned and perceivedthat sort of things?

THEAET. Of course.

SOC. A man sometimes remembers what he has seen, does he not?

THEAET. He does.

SOC. Even when he shuts his eyes, or does he forget if he does that?

THEAET. It would be absurd to say that, Socrates.

164
164a

SOC. We must, though, if we are to maintain our previous argument; otherwise, it is all up with it.

THEAET. I too, by Zeus, have my suspicions, but I dont fully understand you. Tell me how it is.

SOC. This is how it is: he who sees has acquired knowledge, we say, of that which he has seen; for it is agreed that sight and perception and knowledge are all the same.

THEAET. Certainly.

SOC. But he who has seen and has acquired knowledge of what he saw, if he shuts his eyes, remembers it, but does not see it. Is that right?

THEAET. Yes.

164b

SOC. But does not see is the same as does not know, if it is true that seeing is knowing.

THEAET. True.

SOC. Then this is our result. When a man has acquired knowledge of a thing and still remembers it, he does not know it, since he does not see it; but we said that would be a monstrous conclusion.

THEAET. Very true.

SOC. So, evidently, we reach an impossible result if we say that knowledge and perception are the same.

THEAET. So it seems.

SOC. Then we must say they are different.

THEAET. I suppose so.

164c

SOC. Then what can knowledge be? We must, apparently, begin our discussion all over again. And yet, Theaetetus, what are we on the point of doing?

THEAET. About what?

SOC. It seems to me that we are behaving like a worthless game-cock; before winning the victory we have leapt away from our argument and begun to crow.

THEAET. How so?

SOC. We seem to be acting like professional debaters; we have based our agreements on the mere similarity of words and are satisfied to have got the better of the argument in such a way, and we do not see that we, who claim to be, not contestants for a prize, but lovers of wisdom,
164d
are doing just what those ingenious persons do.

THEAET. I do not yet understand what you mean.

SOC. Well, I will try to make my thought clear. We asked, you recollect, whether a man who has learned something and remembers it does not know it. We showed first that the one who has seen and then shuts his eyes remembers, although he does not see, and then we showed that he does not know, although at the same time he remembers; but this, we said, was impossible. And so the Protagorean tale was brought to naught, and yours also about the identity of knowledge and perception.

164e

THEAET. Evidently.

SOC. It would not be so, I fancy, my friend, if the father of the first of the two tales were alive; he would have had a good deal to say in its defence. But he is dead, and we are abusing the orphan. Why, even the guardians whom Protagoras leftone of whom is Theodorus hereare unwilling to come to the childs assistance. So it seems that we shall have to do it ourselves, assisting him in the name of justice.

THEO. Do so, for it is not I, Socrates, but rather
165
165a
Callias the son of Hipponicus, who is the guardian of his children. As for me, I turned rather too soon from abstract speculations to geometry. However, I shall be grateful to you if you come to his assistance.

SOC. Good, Theodorus! Now see how I shall help him; for a man might find himself involved in still worse inconsistencies than those in which we found ourselves just now, if he did not pay attention to the terms which we generally use in assent and denial. Shall I explain this to you, or only to Theaetetus?

THEO. To both of us, but let the younger answer;
165b
for he will be less disgraced if he is discomfited.

SOC. Very well; now I am going to ask the most frightfully difficult question of all. It runs, I believe, something like this: Is it possible for a person, if he knows a thing, at the same time not to know that which he knows?

THEO. Now, then, what shall we answer, Theaetetus?

THEAET. It is impossible, I should think.

SOC. Not if you make seeing and knowing identical. For what will you do with a question from which there is no escape, by which you are, as the saying is, caught in a pit, when your adversary, unabashed, puts his hand over one of your eyes and asks
165c
if you see his cloak with the eye that is covered?

THEAET. I shall say, I think, Not with that eye, but with the other.

SOC. Then you see and do not see the same thing at the same time?

THEAET. After a fashion.

SOC.That, he will reply, is not at all what I want, and I did not ask about the fashion, but whether you both know and do not know the same thing. Now manifestly you see that which you do not see. But you have agreed that seeing is knowing and not seeing is not knowing. Very well; from all this, reckon out what the result is.

165d

THEAET. Well, I reckon out that the result is the contrary of my hypothesis.

SOC. And perhaps, my fine fellow, more troubles of the same sort might have come upon you, if anyone asked you further questionswhether it is possible to know the same thing both sharply and dully, to know close at hand but not at a distance, to know both violently and gently, and countless other questions, such as a nimble fighter, fighting for pay in the war of words, might have lain in wait and asked you, when you said that knowledge and perception were the same thing; he would have charged down upon hearing and smelling and such senses,
165e
and would have argued persistently and unceasingly until you were filled with admiration of his greatly desired wisdom and were taken in his toils, and then, after subduing and binding you he would at once proceed to bargain with you for such ransom as might be agreed upon between you. What argument, then, you might ask, will Protagoras produce to strengthen his forces? Shall we try to carry on the discussion?

THEAET. By all means.

SOC. He will, I fancy, say all that we have said in his defence
166
166a
and then will close with us, saying contemptuously, Our estimable Socrates here frightened a little boy by asking if it was possible for one and the same person to remember and at the same time not to know one and the same thing, and when the child in his fright said no, because he could not foresee what would result, Socrates made poor me a laughing-stock in his talk. But, you slovenly Socrates, the facts stand thus: when you examine any doctrine of mine by the method of questioning, if the person who is questioned makes such replies as I should make and comes to grief, then I am refuted,
166b
but if his replies are quite different, then the person questioned is refuted, not I. Take this example. Do you suppose you could get anybody to admit that the memory a man has of a past feeling he no longer feels is anything like the feeling at the time when he was feeling it? Far from it. Or that he would refuse to admit that it is possible for one and the same person to know and not to know one and the same thing? Or if he were afraid to admit this, would he ever admit that a person who has become unlike is the same as before he became unlike? In fact, if we are to be on our guard against such verbal entanglements, would he admit that a person is one at all, and not many, who become infinite in number,
166c
if the process of becoming different continues? But, my dear fellow, he will say, attack my real doctrines in a more generous manner, and prove, if you can, that perceptions, when they come, or become, to each of us, are not individual, or that, if they are individual, what appears to each one would not, for all that, become to that one aloneor, if you prefer to say be, would not beto whom it appears. But when you talk of pigs and dog-faced baboons, you not only act like a pig yourself, but you persuade your hearers to act so toward my writings,
166d
and that is not right. For I maintain that the truth is as I have written; each one of us is the measure of the things that are and those that are not; but each person differs immeasurably from every other in just this, that to one person some things appear and are, and to another person other things. And I do not by any means say that wisdom and the wise man do not exist; on the contrary, I say that if bad things appear and are to any one of us, precisely that man is wise who causes a change and makes good things appear and be to him.
166e
And, moreover, do not lay too much stress upon the words of my argument, but get a clearer understanding of my meaning from what I am going to say. Recall to your mind what was said before, that his food appears and is bitter to the sick man, but appears and is the opposite of bitter to the man in health.

to 59 w 7835
know 35 w 7839
close 1 w 7844
at 102 w 7846

but 15 w 7853
not 43 w 7856
at 103 w 7858
a 549 w 7859

to 60 w 7870
know 36 w 7874
both 7 w 7878
violently 1 w 7887
and 57 w 7890
gently 1 w 7896
and 58 w 7900
countless 1 w 7909
other 6 w 7914
questions 2 w 7923
such 5 w 7928
as 61 w 7930
a 554 w 7931
nimble 2 w 7937
fighter 1 w 7944
fighting 1 w 7953
for 19 w 7956
pay 2 w 7959
in 113 w 7961
the 112 w 7964
war 2 w 7967
of 40 w 7969
words 2 w 7974
might 3 w 7980
have 12 w 7984
lain 2 w 7988
in 115 w 7990
wait 1 w 7994
and 59 w 7997
asked 3 w 8002
you 52 w 8005
when 8 w 8010
you 53 w 8013
said 5 w 8017
that 44 w 8021
knowledge 10 w 8030
and 60 w 8033
perception 6 w 8043
were 4 w 8047
the 113 w 8050
same 13 w 8054
thing 21 w 8059
he 190 w 8062
would 11 w 8067
have 13 w 8071
charged 1 w 8078
down 1 w 8082
upon 2 w 8086
hearing 3 w 8093
and 61 w 8096
smelling 1 w 8104
and 62 w 8107
such 6 w 8111
senses 1 w 8117
and 63 w 8121
would 12 w 8126
have 14 w 8130
argued 1 w 8136
persistently 1 w 8148
and 64 w 8151
unceasingly 1 w 8162
until 1 w 8167
you 54 w 8170
were 5 w 8174
filled 1 w 8180
with 9 w 8184
admiration 1 w 8194
of 41 w 8196
his 17 w 8199
greatly 1 w 8206
desired 1 w 8213
wisdom 3 w 8219
and 65 w 8222
were 6 w 8226
taken 1 w 8231
in 120 w 8233
his 18 w 8236
toils 1 w 8241
and 66 w 8245
then 9 w 8249
after 2 w 8255
subduing 1 w 8263
and 67 w 8266
binding 1 w 8273
you 55 w 8276
he 193 w 8278
would 13 w 8283
at 107 w 8285
once 1 w 8289
proceed 1 w 8296
to 62 w 8298
bargain 1 w 8305
with 10 w 8309
you 56 w 8312
for 20 w 8315
such 7 w 8319
ransom 1 w 8325
as 64 w 8327
might 4 w 8332
be 35 w 8334
agreed 3 w 8340
upon 3 w 8344
between 1 w 8351
you 57 w 8354
What 2 w 8359
argument 5 w 8367
then 10 w 8372
you 58 w 8376
might 5 w 8381
ask 10 w 8384
will 8 w 8389
Protagoras 5 w 8399
produce 1 w 8406
to 63 w 8408
strengthen 1 w 8418
his 19 w 8421
forces 1 w 8427
Shall 3 w 8433
we 62 w 8435
try 4 w 8438
to 64 w 8440
carry 1 w 8445
on 68 w 8447
the 117 w 8450
discussion 4 w 8460
THEAET 30 w 8467
By 2 w 8470
all 31 w 8473
means 2 w 8478
SOC 34 w 8482
He 2 w 8485
will 9 w 8489
I 48 w 8491
fancy 2 w 8496
say 15 w 8500
all 32 w 8503
that 45 w 8507
we 63 w 8509
have 15 w 8513
said 6 w 8517
in 125 w 8519
his 20 w 8522
defence 2 w 8529
and 68 w 8532
then 12 w 8536
will 10 w 8540
close 2 w 8545
with 11 w 8549
us 47 w 8551
saying 3 w 8558
contemptuously 1 w 8572
Our 1 w 8576
estimable 1 w 8585
Socrates 7 w 8593
here 6 w 8597
frightened 1 w 8607
a 609 w 8608
little 1 w 8614
boy 3 w 8617
by 6 w 8619
asking 1 w 8625
if 28 w 8627
it 64 w 8629
was 7 w 8632
possible 7 w 8640
for 22 w 8643
one 8 w 8646
and 69 w 8649
the 119 w 8652
same 14 w 8656
person 3 w 8662
to 65 w 8664
remember 10 w 8672
and 70 w 8675
at 111 w 8677
the 120 w 8680
same 15 w 8684
time 7 w 8688
not 44 w 8691
to 66 w 8693
know 38 w 8697
one 9 w 8700
and 71 w 8703
the 121 w 8706
same 16 w 8710
thing 22 w 8715
and 72 w 8719
when 9 w 8723
the 122 w 8726
child 3 w 8731
in 129 w 8733
his 21 w 8736
fright 3 w 8742
said 7 w 8746
no 94 w 8748
because 1 w 8756
he 204 w 8758
could 2 w 8763
not 45 w 8766
foresee 1 w 8773
what 19 w 8777
would 14 w 8782
result 5 w 8788
Socrates 8 w 8797
made 1 w 8801
poor 2 w 8805
me 79 w 8807
a 625 w 8808
laughing-stock 1 w 8822
in 131 w 8824
his 22 w 8827
talk 1 w 8831
But 6 w 8835
you 59 w 8839
slovenly 1 w 8847
Socrates 9 w 8855
the 123 w 8859
facts 1 w 8864
stand 3 w 8869
thus 1 w 8873
when 10 w 8878
you 60 w 8881
examine 1 w 8888
any 7 w 8891
doctrine 4 w 8899
of 42 w 8901
mine 2 w 8905
by 7 w 8907
the 124 w 8910
method 1 w 8916
of 43 w 8918
questioning 1 w 8929
if 29 w 8932
the 125 w 8935
person 4 w 8941
who 13 w 8944
is 88 w 8946
questioned 1 w 8956
makes 1 w 8961
such 8 w 8965
replies 1 w 8972
as 69 w 8974
I 49 w 8975
should 6 w 8981
make 4 w 8985
and 74 w 8988
comes 1 w 8993
to 68 w 8995
grief 1 w 9000
then 13 w 9005
I 50 w 9006
am 26 w 9008
refuted 1 w 9015
but 16 w 9019
if 30 w 9021
his 23 w 9024
replies 2 w 9031
are 18 w 9034
quite 1 w 9039
different 5 w 9048
then 14 w 9053
the 128 w 9056
person 5 w 9062
questioned 2 w 9072
is 90 w 9074
refuted 2 w 9081
not 46 w 9085
I 51 w 9086
Take 1 w 9091
this 8 w 9095
example 1 w 9102
Do 3 w 9105
you 61 w 9108
suppose 2 w 9115
you 62 w 9118
could 3 w 9123
get 3 w 9126
anybody 1 w 9133
to 69 w 9135
admit 2 w 9140
that 46 w 9144
the 129 w 9147
memory 3 w 9153
a 644 w 9154
man 13 w 9157
has 17 w 9160
of 44 w 9162
a 647 w 9163
past 1 w 9167
feeling 1 w 9174
he 213 w 9176
no 97 w 9178
longer 1 w 9184
feels 1 w 9189
is 92 w 9191
anything 1 w 9199
like 5 w 9203
the 130 w 9206
feeling 2 w 9213
at 116 w 9215
the 131 w 9218
time 8 w 9222
when 11 w 9226
he 217 w 9228
was 8 w 9231
feeling 3 w 9238
it 67 w 9240
Far 1 w 9244
from 6 w 9248
it 68 w 9250
Or 2 w 9253
that 47 w 9257
he 218 w 9259
would 15 w 9264
refuse 1 w 9270
to 70 w 9272
admit 3 w 9277
that 48 w 9281
it 70 w 9283
is 93 w 9285
possible 8 w 9293
for 24 w 9296
one 12 w 9299
and 75 w 9302
the 132 w 9305
same 17 w 9309
person 6 w 9315
to 71 w 9317
know 39 w 9321
and 76 w 9324
not 47 w 9327
to 72 w 9329
know 40 w 9333
one 13 w 9336
and 77 w 9339
the 133 w 9342
same 18 w 9346
thing 24 w 9351
Or 3 w 9354
if 32 w 9356
he 221 w 9358
were 7 w 9362
afraid 1 w 9368
to 73 w 9370
admit 4 w 9375
this 9 w 9379
would 16 w 9385
he 222 w 9387
ever 6 w 9391
admit 5 w 9396
that 49 w 9400
a 666 w 9401
person 7 w 9407
who 14 w 9410
has 18 w 9413
become 1 w 9419
unlike 1 w 9425
is 95 w 9427
the 134 w 9430
same 19 w 9434
as 74 w 9436
before 3 w 9442
he 224 w 9444
became 1 w 9450
unlike 2 w 9456
In 1 w 9459
fact 2 w 9463
if 33 w 9466
we 65 w 9468
are 19 w 9471
to 74 w 9473
be 42 w 9475
on 84 w 9477
our 18 w 9480
guard 3 w 9485
against 1 w 9492
such 9 w 9496
verbal 1 w 9502
entanglements 1 w 9515
would 17 w 9521
he 225 w 9523
admit 6 w 9528
that 50 w 9532
a 680 w 9533
person 8 w 9539
is 96 w 9541
one 14 w 9544
at 121 w 9546
all 33 w 9549
and 78 w 9553
not 48 w 9556
many 1 w 9560
who 15 w 9564
become 2 w 9570
infinite 1 w 9578
in 144 w 9580
number 1 w 9586
if 34 w 9589
the 135 w 9592
process 1 w 9599
of 45 w 9601
becoming 1 w 9609
different 6 w 9618
continues 1 w 9627
But 7 w 9631
my 10 w 9634
dear 2 w 9638
fellow 2 w 9644
he 227 w 9647
will 11 w 9651
say 17 w 9654
attack 2 w 9661
my 11 w 9663
real 4 w 9667
doctrines 2 w 9676
in 148 w 9678
a 690 w 9679
more 2 w 9683
generous 1 w 9691
manner 1 w 9697
and 79 w 9701
prove 1 w 9706
if 36 w 9709
you 63 w 9712
can 3 w 9715
that 51 w 9720
perceptions 1 w 9731
when 12 w 9736
they 4 w 9740
come 7 w 9744
or 81 w 9747
become 3 w 9753
to 75 w 9756
each 4 w 9760
of 46 w 9762
us 53 w 9764
are 20 w 9768
not 49 w 9771
individual 1 w 9781
or 82 w 9784
that 52 w 9788
if 37 w 9791
they 5 w 9795
are 21 w 9798
individual 2 w 9808
what 20 w 9813
appears 2 w 9820
to 76 w 9822
each 5 w 9826
one 15 w 9829
would 18 w 9834
not 50 w 9837
for 26 w 9841
all 34 w 9844
that 53 w 9848
become 4 w 9855
to 77 w 9857
that 54 w 9861
one 16 w 9864
alone 1 w 9869
or 84 w 9872
if 38 w 9875
you 64 w 9878
prefer 1 w 9884
to 78 w 9886
say 18 w 9889
be 48 w 9891
would 19 w 9897
not 51 w 9900
be 49 w 9902
to 79 w 9905
whom 4 w 9909
it 75 w 9911
appears 3 w 9918
But 8 w 9922
when 13 w 9926
you 65 w 9929
talk 2 w 9933
of 47 w 9935
pigs 1 w 9939
and 80 w 9942
dog-faced 1 w 9951
baboons 1 w 9958
you 66 w 9962
not 52 w 9965
only 2 w 9969
act 5 w 9972
like 8 w 9976
a 717 w 9977
pig 2 w 9980
yourself 1 w 9988
but 17 w 9992
you 68 w 9995
persuade 3 w 10003
your 9 w 10007
hearers 1 w 10014
to 80 w 10016
act 6 w 10019
so 34 w 10021
toward 2 w 10027
my 12 w 10029
writings 1 w 10037
and 81 w 10041
that 55 w 10045
is 97 w 10047
not 53 w 10050
right 6 w 10055
For 5 w 10059
I 53 w 10060
maintain 3 w 10068
that 56 w 10072
the 138 w 10075
truth 1 w 10080
is 98 w 10082
as 75 w 10084
I 54 w 10085
have 16 w 10089
written 2 w 10096
each 6 w 10101
one 18 w 10104
of 48 w 10106
us 54 w 10108
is 99 w 10110
the 139 w 10113
measure 2 w 10120
of 49 w 10122
the 140 w 10125
things 3 w 10131
that 57 w 10135
are 23 w 10138
and 82 w 10141
those 3 w 10146
that 58 w 10150
are 24 w 10153
not 54 w 10156
but 18 w 10160
each 7 w 10164
person 9 w 10170
differs 1 w 10177
immeasurably 1 w 10189
from 7 w 10193
every 2 w 10198
other 7 w 10203
in 155 w 10205
just 9 w 10209
this 10 w 10213
that 59 w 10218
to 82 w 10220
one 19 w 10223
person 10 w 10229
some 8 w 10233
things 4 w 10239
appear 4 w 10245
and 83 w 10248
are 25 w 10251
and 84 w 10255
to 83 w 10257
another 2 w 10264
person 11 w 10270
other 9 w 10275
things 5 w 10281
And 5 w 10285
I 55 w 10286
do 56 w 10288
not 56 w 10291
by 8 w 10293
any 11 w 10296
means 3 w 10301
say 19 w 10304
that 60 w 10308
wisdom 4 w 10314
and 85 w 10317
the 144 w 10320
wise 4 w 10324
man 16 w 10327
do 58 w 10329
not 57 w 10332
exist 3 w 10337
on 99 w 10340
the 145 w 10343
contrary 3 w 10351
I 56 w 10353
say 20 w 10356
that 61 w 10360
if 40 w 10362
bad 1 w 10365
things 6 w 10371
appear 5 w 10377
and 86 w 10380
are 26 w 10383
to 84 w 10385
any 12 w 10388
one 20 w 10391
of 50 w 10393
us 56 w 10395
precisely 1 w 10405
that 62 w 10409
man 17 w 10412
is 105 w 10414
wise 5 w 10418
who 17 w 10421
causes 1 w 10427
a 764 w 10428
change 2 w 10434
and 87 w 10437
makes 2 w 10442
good 3 w 10446
things 7 w 10452
appear 6 w 10458
and 88 w 10461
be 50 w 10463
to 85 w 10465
him 6 w 10468
And 6 w 10472
moreover 1 w 10481
do 59 w 10484
not 58 w 10487
lay 1 w 10490
too 4 w 10493
much 2 w 10497
stress 1 w 10503
upon 4 w 10507
the 146 w 10510
words 3 w 10515
of 51 w 10517
my 13 w 10519
argument 6 w 10527
but 19 w 10531
get 4 w 10534
a 773 w 10535
clearer 1 w 10542
understanding 1 w 10555
of 52 w 10557
my 14 w 10559
meaning 2 w 10566
from 8 w 10570
what 21 w 10574
I 57 w 10575
am 32 w 10577
going 2 w 10582
to 87 w 10584
say 21 w 10587
Recall 1 w 10594
to 88 w 10596
your 10 w 10600
mind 1 w 10604
what 22 w 10608
was 9 w 10611
said 8 w 10615
before 4 w 10621
that 63 w 10626
his 27 w 10629
food 1 w 10633
appears 4 w 10640
and 90 w 10643
is 108 w 10645
bitter 1 w 10651
to 89 w 10653
the 147 w 10656
sick 1 w 10660
man 18 w 10663
but 20 w 10667
appears 5 w 10674
and 91 w 10677
is 109 w 10679
the 148 w 10682
opposite 2 w 10690
of 53 w 10692
