But if I could only induce you to accept any of my proposals, I think that I should confer such benefits on the State that if I tried to describe them now, many of you would disbelieve them, as being too good to be true. And yet even this too I consider no mean benefit, if I accustom you to listen to the best advice. For he who would benefit the State, Athenians, must first purge your ears, for they have been poisoned; so many lies have you been accustomed to hearanything, in fact, rather than the best advice.

But 1 w 3
if 1 w 5
I 1 w 6
could 1 w 11
only 1 w 15
induce 1 w 21
you 1 w 24
to 1 w 26
accept 1 w 32
any 1 w 35
of 1 w 37
my 1 w 39
proposals 1 w 48
I 2 w 50
think 1 w 55
that 1 w 59
I 3 w 60
should 1 w 66
confer 1 w 72
such 1 w 76
benefits 1 w 84
on 3 w 86
the 1 w 89
State 1 w 94
that 2 w 98
if 2 w 100
I 4 w 101
tried 1 w 106
to 2 w 108
describe 1 w 116
them 1 w 120
now 1 w 123
many 1 w 128
of 2 w 130
you 2 w 133
would 1 w 138
disbelieve 1 w 148
them 2 w 152
as 1 w 155
being 1 w 160
too 1 w 163
good 1 w 167
to 4 w 169
be 5 w 171
true 1 w 175
And 1 w 179
yet 1 w 182
even 1 w 186
this 1 w 190
too 2 w 193
I 5 w 194
consider 1 w 202
no 2 w 204
mean 1 w 208
benefit 2 w 215
if 3 w 218
I 6 w 219
accustom 1 w 227
you 3 w 230
to 7 w 232
listen 1 w 238
to 8 w 240
the 4 w 243
best 1 w 247
advice 1 w 253
For 1 w 257
he 5 w 259
who 1 w 262
would 2 w 267
benefit 3 w 274
the 5 w 277
State 2 w 282
Athenians 1 w 292
must 1 w 297
first 1 w 302
purge 1 w 307
your 1 w 311
ears 1 w 315
for 1 w 319
they 1 w 323
have 1 w 327
been 1 w 331
poisoned 1 w 339
so 2 w 342
many 2 w 346
lies 1 w 350
have 2 w 354
you 5 w 357
been 2 w 361
accustomed 1 w 371
to 10 w 373
hear 1 w 377
anything 1 w 386
in 5 w 389
fact 1 w 393
rather 1 w 400
than 1 w 404
the 9 w 407
best 2 w 411
advice 2 w 417
