ἀερσίπους

ἀερσίπους -ποδος [ἀερ-, ἀείρω + -σι- + πούς.] Lifting the feet, high-stepping. Epithet of horses: Il. 3.327, Il. 23.475. Applied to ἵπποι in sense chariot (see ἵππος 3) Il. 18.532.

ποικίλος

ποικίλος -η, -ον. 1 Parti-coloured, marked with patches of a different colour or shade, dappled : παρδαλέῃ Il. 10.30 : ἐλλόν Od. 19.228. 2 Wrought or ornamented with curious art, elaborately wrought or ornamented. With reference to broidery or ornamental variegated work in wool, etc. : πέπλον Il. 5.735= Il. 8.386. Cf. Il. 14.215, 220, Il. 22.441 : Od. 18.293.– Of various products of art : ἅρματα ποικίλα χαλκῷ (with . . ., i.e. having the metal parts curiously wrought) Il. 4.226, Il. 10.322, 393, θώρηκα Il. 16.134.
