νῦν

νῦν 1 At the present time, now : οἷοι νῦν βροτοί εἰσιν Il. 5.304. Cf. Il. 1.109, Il. 2.254, Il. 7.129, Il. 12.271, etc. : Od. 1.82, Od. 3.69, Od. 17.245, Od. 18.239, etc. At the present time, on the present occasion, now, as opposed in terms to the past or future : ἢ νῦν δηθύνοντʼ ἢ ὕστερον αὖτις ἰόντα Il. 1.27. Cf. Il. 1.455, Il. 3.439, Il. 4.321, etc. : τὸ πρίν : ἀτὰρ μὲν νῦν γε . . . Od. 4.32. Cf. Od. 1.369, Od. 3.366, Od. 6.243, etc. 2 In the time following more or less directly the present, now : νῦν δʼ εἶμι φθίηνδε Il. 1.169. Cf. ὅσος ὅσσος -η, -ον. 1 Such in number, quantity or volume as, as many or much as, such as : ὅσοι θεοί εἰσʼ ἐν Ὀλύμπῳ (all the gods in . . .) Il. 1.566 (θεοί attracted into the relative clause), ὅσοι οὐ βουλῆς ἐπάκουσαν Il. 2.143, ἀγηγέραθʼ ὅσσοι ἄριστοι [ἦσαν] (as many as were . . ., the whole number of the . . .) Il. 4.211. Cf.
