διατρίβω fut. ψω Pass., aor2 -ετριβην perf. -τέτριμμαι to rub between, rub hard, rub away, consume, waste, Hom.:—Pass., διατριβῆναι to perish utterly, Hdt. δ. χρόνον, Lat. terere tempus, to spend time, Hdt., Xen.: Pass., ἐνιαυτὸς διετρίβη Thuc. absol.
