of a hog, χ. πέτραι rocks (rising just above the sea) like a hogʼs back (cf. Virgilʼs dorsum immane maris), Pind., Anth.:—hence χοιράς as Subst., a sunken rock, Hdt., Aesch.; so, χ. Δηλία the Delian rock, the rocky isle of Delos, Aesch.
