τιταίνω Epic redupl. for τείνω, τανύω to stretch, τόξα τιταίνων bending his bow, Il.; so in Mid., ἐτιταίνετο τόξα was bending his bow, Hom. to stretch out, ἐτίταινε τάλαντα was holding them out, Il.; ἐτίταινε τραπέζας was laying them out, Od. to draw at full stretch, of horses, etc., ἅρμα τιταίνειν Il.; ἄροτρον τιταίνετον Il.; absol., τιταίνετον haste along, Il.
