at Athens, to hold office as Prytanis, properly used of the presiding φυλή (v. πρύτανις II), ἔτυχεν ἡ φυλὴ Ἀκαμαντὶς πρυτανεύουσα Plat., etc.
πρ. περὶ εἰρήνης to put the question on a motion for peace, this being the duty of the Prytanes, Ar., etc.
