Hdt. followed by a prep., με νῆσον ἐς Ὠγυγίην πέλασαν θεοί Od. in Pass., like the intr. Act. to come nigh, approach, etc., c. dat., Il.; πλῆτο χθονί he came near (i. e. sank to) earth, Il. rarely c. gen., Soph. foll. by a prep., πελασθῆναι ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν Soph. to approach or wed, of a woman, Aesch.
