to persuade by indirect means, to talk over, win over, Il., Aesch.; παρειπών by thy persuasions, Il.:—c. acc. cogn. to give such and such advice, αἴσιμα παρειπών Il.
In Il. the first syll. is long, πᾱρειπών, πᾱρειποῦσα, the orig. form having been παρϝειπών.
