ἀνάπτω
to make fast on or to a thing, ἐξ ἱστοῦ πείρατʼ ἀνῆπτον made fast the rope to the mast, Od.:—Mid., ἐκ τοῦδʼ ἀναψόμεσθα κάλων to him will we make fast our cable, i. e. he shall be our protector, Eur.:—Pass. to fasten oneself on to, cling to a thing, c. gen., Eur.; ἀμφί τινι Eur.; ἀνῆφθαί τι to have a thing fastened on one, Eur.
to hang up in a temple, offer up, ἀγάλματα Od.
metaph. to attach to, μῶμον ἀνάψαι Od.; αἷμα ἀν. τινί a charge of bloodshed, Eur.
