in height, upright, erect, Hom., Hdt., Attic; ὀρθὸν οὖς ἱστάναι, i. e. to give attentive ear, Soph.:—of buildings, standing with their walls entire, τὸ Πάνακτον ὀρθὸν παραδοῦναι Thuc.
