ἀναμάσσω to wipe off, ἔργον ὃ σῆι κεφαλῆι ἀναμάξεις a deed which thou wilt wipe off on thine own head (as if it were a stain), Od.; so, ταῦτα ἐμῆι κεφαλῆι ἀναμάξας Hdt.:—Mid., ἀναμάττεσθαι τῶι προσώπωι τοῦ αἵματος to have [some of] the blood wiped on oneʼs face, Plut.
