Aesch. only, Lat. modo, with an imperat., ἀποκρίνου μ. Plat.; μή με καταπίῃς μ. Eur. the adj. often stands as an adv., χοίνικος μόνης ἁλῶν for a gallon of salt only, Ar. οὐ μόνον . . , ἀλλὰ καὶ . . , Ar., etc.:— μόνον, like Lat. solum, is sometimes omitted in these phrases, μὴ τοὺς ἐγγύς, ἀλλὰ καὶ τοὺς ἀπόθεν Thuc. μόνον οὐ, Like Lat. tantum non, all but, Ar., Dem.; μονονουχί Dem. κατὰ μόνας, as adv. alone, Thuc.
