Attic usage, fut. ἀναγνώσομαι: aor2 ἀνέγνων: perf. ἀνέγνωκα:— Pass., fut. -γνωσθήσομαι: aor1 ἀνεγνώσθην: perf. ἀνέγνωσμαι, etc.:—of written characters, to know them again, and so to read, Ar., etc.; ἀναγνώσεται (sc. ὁ γραμματεύς) , ἀνάγνωθι, Dem.:— οἱ ἀναγιγνώσκοντες students, Plut.
Ionic usage, aor1 ἀνέγνωσα, to persuade or induce one to do a thing, c. acc. et inf., Hdt.: the inf. is sometimes omitted, ὡς ἀνέγνωσε when he had persuaded him, Hdt.;—the pres. is once so used, ἀναγιγνώσκεις στρατεύεσθαι βασιλέα Hdt.:—so in aor1 pass. ἀνεγνώσθην, to be persuaded to do a thing, c. inf., Hdt.
