to persist, persevere, hold out, Hdt.; so in part., διάγειν λιπαρέοντας to continue to hold out, Hdt.; also, reversely, λιπαρέετε μένοντες persist in holding your ground, Hdt.; so, c. dat., λ. τῇ πόσει to keep on drinking, Hdt.
