ἔτης mostly in pl. the ἔται were clansmen, i. e. the kinsmen of a great house, cousins, παῖδές τε κασίγνητοί τε ἔται τε Hom.; ἔται καὶ ἀνεψιοί Il. later, = δημότης, a townsman, neighbour, Thuc.:—in sg. a private citizen, Aesch. for ὦ τάν or ὦ ʼτάν, v. sub τάν.
