to do, Hom., etc.; often c. dupl. acc., to do something to a person, κακὰ πολλὰ ἔοργεν Τρῶας Il.; also, εὖ or κακῶς ἔρδειν τινά Theogn., etc.; simply, ἔρδ. τινά to do one harm, Soph.; ἔρδ. πήματα to work mischief, Aesch.; ἔρδοι τις ἣν ἕκαστος εἰδείη τέχνην let each man practise the art he knows, Ar.
