Hp.Mi. 368c , Gal. 6.406 , al.; ς. and λήκυθος are freq. coupled as typical articles of everyday use, οὐδ’ ἐστὶν αὕτη στλεγγὶς οὐδὲ λήκυθος Ar. Fr. 207 , cf. Cic. Fin. 4.12.30 , Plu. 2.59f , 461e :—at Sparta reeds were used, but generally the ς. was of metal, ib. 239b , cf. D.S. 13.82 .
