A). leathern, made of leather, μάστιξ 21.10 ; ἀναξυρίδες, ἐσθής, σκευή, 1.71 , 4.189 , 7.71 ; πλοῖα 1.194 ; ἁμαξίδες Nu. 880 ; χύτρα 29 ; ὑποκεφάλαιον Art. 30 ; κράνη An. 5.4.13 ; σκύτινον καθειμένον a leathern phallus, Nu. 538 ( v.l. -ίον ); so σκυτίνη ἐπικουρία Lys. 110 ; a phrase which is used by Strattis ( Fr. 54 ) to denote the feebleness of Sannyrio; prob. both writers meant to pun upon the proverb συκίνη ἐπικουρία, v. σύκινος .
