ῥοιβδέω
ῥοιβδ-έω,
A). move with a whistling or rustling sound, ῥοιβδοῦσα κόλπον αἰγίδος letting the swelling aegis rustle (as she flies), Eu. 404 : intr., of wind, whistle, ῥοιβδήσας Εὖρος AP 7.636 ( ).
II). suck down, of Charybdis, ; 12.106 κῦμα δ’ ἐρροίβδει μέγα σύνεγγυς ἡμῶν Exag. 237 , cf. Or. 46(3).38 .
2). cause to gush forth, ὅταν .. κρηναῖον ἐξ ἄμμοιο-ήση γάνος . (In signf. 247 11 ῥυβδέω shd. perh. be written, cf. ἀναρροιβδέω; signf. 1 is found also in ἀπορροιβδέω, ἐπιρροιβδέω.)
