A). remove up the country, ἀ. τὴν Σπάρτην, i.e. break it up as a city, Arist. Rh.Al. 1423a7 ; ἀ. τινὰς ἐς τὴν Περσίδα Paus. 1.25.5 , cf. Str. 13.3.3 ; ἀ. [τέττιγας] φθόνου ἐς δένδρα remove them out of envy's way, dub. in Philostr. VA 7.11 (leg. ἀπ-):— Pass. and Med., shift one's dwelling up the country, migrate inland or to higher ground, αὐτοὶ δ’ ἀνῳκίσανθ’ ὅπως ἀνωτάτω Ar. Pax 207 , cf. Av. 1351 , Str. 9.2.17 , App. Pun. 84 ; and of cities, to be built inland or away from the coast, Th. 1.7 :—generally, migrate, ἀνοικίσασθαι εἰς Ὄλυνθον Id. 1.58 , cf. 8.31 .
