A). Pluto, god of the nether world, first in Trag., as A. Pr. 806 , S. Ant. 1200 , E. Alc. 360 , HF 808 (lyr.): acc. to Plato (from πλοῦτος) the wealth-giver, a name of Hades, ὅτι ἐκ τῆς γῆς ἀνίεται [ὁ πλοῦτος], Cra. 403a , cf. πλουτοδότης; identified with Plutus, and considered as the god of riches, cf. S. Fr. 273 , Ar. Pl. 727 :—hence Πλουτώνιος, α, ον, of or belonging to Pluto;
