A). pitch over, pitch, τὰς ὀροφάς IG 22.659.25 ; τὰς ναῦς Sch. Pl. 1093 :— Pass., , 2.110 , 5.12 31 ; of bronze statues, in order to take casts of them, JTr. 33 ; in order to clean them, Lex. 11 .
II). Med., remove the hair by means of a pitch-plaster, οἱ βάρβαροι πιττοῦνται τὰ σώματα Theopomp. Hist. 195 , cf. Rh.Pr. 23 ; πιττούμενος τὰ σκέλη Demon. 50 , cf. Merc.Cond. 33 .
