A). ah me ! woe's me ! first in and Trag. (v. infr.) (in always ὤ μοι); οἴμ’ ὡς τεθνήξεις Ach. 590 ; and Com., οἴμ’ ὡς ἥδομαι Nu. 773 : mostly abs., or with a nom., οἴ. ἐγὼ σοῦ μέλεος cj. in Tr. 971 (lyr.); οἴ. δείλαιος Eq. 139 : ironical, οἴ., καταύδα oh ! denounce it, Ant. 86 : sts. c. gen. causae, οἴ. ἀναλκείης ; 891 οἴ. φρενὸς σῆς Hipp. 1454 ; οἴ. ταλαίνης συμφορᾶς El. 1179 ; οἴμοι μοι Pax 257 (really οἰμοιμοῖ acc. to Adv. 177.3 ):—the forms ᾤμοι and ὤμοι are freq. found in codd., as of Tr. l.c., Aj. 980 , OC 202 (lyr.), etc.; ὤμοι is acknowledged by Adv. 126.27 .( οἴμοι may become οἴμ’ by elision in Trag. and Com. before ὡς, οἴμ’ ὡς ἔοικας ὀρθὰ μαρτυρεῖν Aj. 354 , cf.
