A). spit, ἀμφ’ ὀβελοῖσιν ἔπειραν , al., cf. 1.465 , 2.41 135 , Cyc. 303 ; αἱματίου ὀβελὸς τρικώλιος SIG 1025.53 (Cos); ὀδελοί ; 79 κρῆς .. ἂν τὸν ὀδελὸν ἀμπεπαρμένον Megar. in Ach. 796 ; τὸ θερμὸν τοῦ ὀ., prov. of taking a thing by the wrong end, Fr. 814 .
