Med., fasten by a rope to oneself, ὤνευον ἀναδούμενοι τοὺς σταυρούς Th. 7.25 ; esp. of a ship, ἀναδούμενος ἑλκειν take in tow, 1.50 , 2.90 , etc.: metaph., ἀναδεῖσθαί τινας attach them to oneself, Aristid.
