3). a lichen-like eruption on the skin of animals, esp. on the chin, mentagra, A. Ch. 281 (pl.), Hp. Aph. 3.20 (pl.), Thphr. Sud. 14 (pl.), LXX Le. 21.20 , Gal. 14.75 , Aët. 8.16 ; also, of the ground, blight, canker, A. Eu. 785 (lyr.).
