A). being sucked back, i.e. of sea, ebb, opp., πλημμυρίς or ῥαχία ( Ion. ῥηχίη), Hdt. 2.11 , 7.198 , 8.129 , Arist. Mete. 366a19 , Placit. 3.17 , Agatharch. 32 , etc.: in pl., ebb and flow, tides, Arist. Mu. 396a26 , Peripl.M.Rubr. 45 , App. Hisp. 1 , Hdn. 3.14.6 .—The full form ἀνάπωτις only Pi.
