Lex., but there is no ἐπί in Il. 14.132 , and ἐπίηρα (q.v.) in later poets proves nothing for Hom.: —prob.(v(ῆρα, perh.cogn. with ONorse váé 'snug', 'comfortable', OHG. alawâri 'friendly'( Germ. albern), Goth. unwērjan ( = ἀγανακτεῖν ), Gr. ἐρίηρος, βρίηρον.)
