2). lay asleep, lull to sleep, φρουρὸν ὄφιν A. R. 4.87 : metaph., τῆς δ’ εὔνησε γόον Od. 4.758 ; κάματον, ἐλπίδας, χόλον, AP 10.12 , 4.3b . 41 ( Agath.), Nonn. D. 13.276 :— Pass., make one's couch, prob. in S. Aj. 604 (lyr.); lie asleep, esp. of death, εὐνήθης ὕπνον ὀφειλόμενον AP 7.78 ( Dionys.
