A). thrown out or away, exposed, ἔκβολον οἴκων βρέφος E. Ph. 804 (lyr.); rejected, σφόνδυλοι Supp.Epigr. 2.569.22 (Didyma); ἔ. βροτῶν βίου Luc. Trag. 215 .
2). frustrated, LXX Ju. 11.11 .
3). cast out, [ἔφοδος] ὡσανεὶ κόσκινον [ἀριθμοὺς] ὥσπερ ἐ. ἀποχωρίσει Iamb. in Nic. p.29P. ; τὰ διὰ κοσκίνου ἔ. ib. p.30P.
II). Subst. ἔκβολον, outcast, ἔ. κόρης E. Ion 555 ; νηδύος ἔ. Id. Ba. 91 (lyr.).
