II). Ἑκάτης δεῖπνον Hecate's dinner, a meal set out by rich persons at the foot of her statue ἐν τριόδοις on the 30th day of each month, when it became a sort of dole for beggars and paupers, Ar. Pl. 594 et Sch. adloc., cf. Plu. 2.280c , 290d , AB 247 : hence, as it consisted of offal, Ἑκαταῖα κατεσθίειν, of a rapscallion, D. 54.39 , cf. Luc. DMort. 1.1 .
