ἔγκαρπ-ος, ον,
A). containing fruit, κάλυξιν ἐγκάρποις χθονός OT 25 ; fruitful, σπέρματα Phdr. 276b ; of soil, CP 2.4.2 ; γᾶν ἔγκαρπον φέρειν may the earth bear produce, SIG 526.41 (Crete); δένδρα 2.2e ; τέλη ἔγκαρπα tithe of produce, Tr. 238 : metaph., χρήσιμον καὶ ἔ. fruitful, 2.776b , cf. Merc.Cond. 39 ( Sup.). Adv.-πως , διακεῖσθαι 7.1 .
