ἄκαπν-ος, ον,
A). without smoke, free from it, σκέπη Hp. Acut. 65 ; not smoking, making no smoke, πῦρ Thphr. Ign. 71 ; θυσία ἄ. an offering but no burnt offering, Luc. Am. 4 ; so a poem is called Καλλιόπης ἄ. θύος AP 6.321 ( Leon.):—ἄκαπνα γὰρ αἰὲν ἀοιδοὶ θύομεν we sacrifice without a fire of our own, i.e. live at others' expense, Call. Fr. 53P.
II). = ἀκάπνιστος , Plin. HN 11.45 .
III). ἄκαπνον, = σάμψουχον , Ps.- Dsc. 3.39 .
