αἴθουσα (sc. στοά), ἡ, properly part. of αἴθω (q.v.), in the Homeric house,
A). portico, verandah, to catch the sun, δόμον .. ξεστῇς αἰθούσῃσι τετυγμένον , cf. 6.243 20.11 , , 3.39 237 : in esp. of a loggia leading from αὐλή to πρόδομος, 3.399 , al.; αἰ. ἐρίδουπος, echoing to the tramp of horses, 15.146 .
2). = κώνειον , Ps.- .( 4.78 αἴθουσσα Hdn.Gr. 2.919 , v.l. in , which may point to αἰθοῦσσα = αἰθόεσσα. )
