A). inviolability, i.e.,
1). safety to the person, of suppliants, ἀ. βροτῶν Supp. 610 ; of competitors at games, Arat. 28 ; in Inscrr., as a privilege bestowed on one who has deserved well of the state, εἶμεν δὲ αὐτῷ ἀτέλειαν καὶ ἀ. καὶ κατὰ γᾶν καὶ κατὰ θάλασσαν IG 7.11 (Megara), cf. 2.551.80 , 5(1).1226 ( Lacon.), etc.
