ἀρβύλη [ῠ],
A). strong shoe coming up to the ankle, half-boot, used by country people, hunters, travellers, Ag. 944 , Fr. 259 , Or. 1470 (lyr.); πηλοπατίδες ἀ. Art. 62 ; αὐταῖσιν ἀρβύλαισιν ἁρμόσας πόδα with shoes and all, Hipp. 1189 (wrongly expld. by as = δίφρος , the stand of the charioteer), cf. Ba. 1134 ; cf. ἄρμυλα.
