Opp. C. 3.447 ; ἀποφώλια μητιόων Man. 6.565 ; ῥέξουσ’ ἀποφώλια Orac. ap. Jul. Ep. 89 ; of the Minotaur, ξύμμικτον εἶδος κἀποφώλιον τρέφος a monstrous, hybrid birth, E. Fr. 996 ; in Nic. Al. 524 στομίων ἀ. ἆσθμα is expld. by Sch. χαλεπόν, but perh. there is a play on φωλεύοντα (φωλεός, cf. Eust.) which occurs just before.
