II). mostly in Pass., -ζεύγνῠμαι, aor. -εζύγην [ῠ] (v. infr.), also -εζεύχθην E. El. 284 , AP 12.226 ( Strat.):—to be loosed from the yoke, [ βοῦς] εἰς νομὰς ἀπεζεύχθη Babr. 37.6 ; but usually metaph., to be parted from, τέκνων γυναικός τ’ E. HF 1375 , cf. Med. 1017 ; εἰ γάμων ἀπεζύγην if I were free from .., Id. Supp. 791 ; ὀρφανὸς ἀποζυγείς Id. Ph. 988 ; ὥσπερ δεῦρ’ ἀπεζύγην πόδας as I unharnessed my feet, i.e. took rest, A. Ch. 676 .
