A). escort out of the city the δῖον κῴδιον (v. κῴδιον): hence generally, conjure away, Pl. Cra. 396e , Onos. 5 , Ph. 1.239 , Lib. Decl. 15.34 ; μετ’ εὐπρεπείας τοὺς φιλοσόφους ἐκ τῆς πόλεως Plu. Cat.Ma. 22 ; τινὰς τοῦδε τοῦ γράμματος Gal. Thras. 37 .
2). generally, set aside, waive, τὸ προβληθέν Ath. 9.401b , cf. Theo Sm. p.200H.
II). καθήρασθαι καὶ ἀ. τὸν οἶκον free it from pollution, Pl. Lg. 877e ; πόλιν καθαίρειν καὶ ἀ. Lys. 6.53 .
