ὠλίγγη
ὠλίγγη, ἡ, variously expld. in EM 821.43 , AB 318 ,
1). = ἀκαριαῖον, ἐλάχιστον.
2). Att. for doze (ἐπὶ τοῦ νυστάξαι).
3). wrinkles beside the eyes, 'crow's feet'; this last sense is given by (where vv. 2.67 οὔλιγγας, ὠλίγκας, ἔλιγγας, ὤριγγας) as found in poets, and the remark τὴν δὲ ὠλίγγην ( v.l. ὠλλ- ) δηλοῦν καὶ πνοὴν καὶ σκιὰν καὶ ἀκαρὲς πνεῦμα (EM and AB cc.) may refer to the same poet. passage. cites ὠλιγγία in all three senses, also ὠλιγγιάω, = νυστάζω , and ὠλιγγήϊος, α, ον, = ὀλίγος.
