2). Φ. νόμοι, μέλεα, Phrygian music, esp. of music played on the flute, said to have been invented by Marsyas, E. Or. 1426 (lyr.), Tr. 545 (lyr.); Φ. αὐλοί Id. Ba. 127 (lyr.): πᾶσα βακχεία .. μάλιστα .. ἐστὶν ἐν τοῖς αὐλοῖς .. · ὁ διθύραμβος ὁμολογουμένως δοκεῖ εἶναι Φ. Arist.
