A). early fig, found in Com. in pl., nom. φιβάλεῳ (φιβαλέοι codd. ) : gen., 5 τῶν φιβάλεων συκων ; 80 φιβάλεων alone, : acc., 51 φιβάλεως ἰσχάδας Ach. 802 ; φιβάλεως alone, .—Sch. 5 l.c. has γένος συκῆς ἡ φίβαλις (taking φιβάλεως as gen. sg.) and explains as the name for a district in Megaris or Attica; EM 793.26 has φιβάλεως· γένος συκῆς· λέγουσι δὲ οὕτω καὶ τὰς μιρρίνας.
