2). lever for stretching dislocated joints, Hp. Fract. 13 , al.
III). like πηνίον , a pupa of a geometrid moth, Arist. HA 551b6 .—The form ὕπερον, τό, is found in Hesperia 5.383 (Athens, v B. C., pl.), Hp. Art. 5 , 78 , Plb. 1.22.7 , PRyl. 167.14 (pl., i A.D.), Luc. Philops. 35 , Poll. 1.245 , 7.107 , 10.114 , EM 779.48 ; whereas none of the other passages in which the word occurs prove anything about the gender, except Hes. l.c.; whence it has been suggested that τρίπηχυ should be read there, and ὕπερον, received as the only form.
