Ὕης [ῡ], ου, ὁ,(ὕω) epith. of Ζεὺς ὄμβριος (cf. ὑέτιος), Hsch., Theognost. Can. 18 .
II). epith. of Dionysus, Cli<to>dem. 21 , Euph. 14 (in Hsch. also Ὑεύς, in Sch. Ar. Av. 874 Ὕας), as the god of fertilizing moisture, Plu. 2.364d : cf. Ὑάδες 11 , Ὕη. The invocation Ὕης ἄττης in D. 18.260 is of doubtful meaning; Ὕης is placed among ζενικοὶ θεοί by Ar. Fr. 878 (cf. Apolloph. 7 ). (Acc. to Hdn.Gr. 1.59 Ὑῆς is the correct accent.)
