A). dropsy, Hp. Aph. 3.22 (pl.), IG 42(1).122.1 , 123.33 (Epid., iv B. C.), Epicur. Fr. 190 , Sor. 2.37 , etc.; ὕ. ξηρός Hp. Aph. 4.11 ; he distinguishes two kinds, ὁ ὑποσαρκίδιος ( v.l. ὑπὸ τῇ σαρκί ) and ὁ μετ’ ἐμφυσημάτων, Acut.(Sp.) 52 .
2). ὕ, εἰς ἀμίδα diabetes, Gal. 7.81 .
3). any watery discharge, e.g. discharge before parturition, Arist. HA 587a6 , Cleophant. ap. Sor. 2.53 ; cf. πρόφορος 11 .
II). a dropsical person, Hp. Int. 47 (dub. 1 .), Epid. 2.5.13 — in which sense Dsc. ap. Gal. 19.148 read ὑδρώψ (oxyt.).
